September 23, 2008 - Gorba and Precimation enter a strategic cooperation agreement

 

Gorba AG, a leading manufacturer of mobile passenger information systems and Precimation AG, a specialist for stationary passenger information have agreed on a strategic cooperation platform. This merger creates a new global player for passenger information systems for the public transportation sector.

July 14, 2008 - Warsaw with modern passenger information

 

The construction and launch of the iqube system in Warsaw took only 12 months. With 28 displays, 220 vehicle modules, and a high performance control center, numerous new iqube components based on GPS, GPRS, RFID, and Text-to-Speech systems were put into operation for the first time.

October 22, 2007 - Modern Architecture and iqube

 

After several years of construction, the long awaited opening of new Gotha Central Station Plaza was celebrated in early October. With the new public transport terminal as a fundamental element of the new central station, train, tram, and bus transportation will be integrated to substantially simplify transfers for passengers. Architecturally, the reconstruction of the central station plaza is a highlight of modernity in richly historical surroundings.

April 03, 2007 - iqube goes East!

 

Precimation has taken its first steps into the Eastern European market. In conjunction with its partner, Ascom Poland – the subsidiary of Swiss Ascom AG, Precimation has won a 2.1 million Euro bid for the development and delivery of a dynamic passenger information system in Warsaw. The project has been contracted by the transit operator Tramwaje Warszawskie, who with approximately 850 trams, operates one of the largest tram networks in Europe.

December 05, 2006 - Norwegian iqube up and running

 

First Scandinavian project completed

 

The idea for the first Scandinavian iqube project had nothing to do with passenger information – at first! As in many European cities, the Norwegian city of Moss, is enhancing its city center with the construction of a new shopping center. It quickly became clear to the project managers that AMFI, the new construction, would not only affect the other downtown buildings, but also the traffic flow and infrastructure of all vehicles including the buses.

On paper, the service items of the dynamic passenger information system for Vienna Neustadt sound like the synopsis of the complete services of a large metropolitan transit operator.

 

- Installation of 20 passenger information units with 18 full-matrix displays

- Establishment of a control center with data supply, display monitoring, statistic generation, and operating surveillance (RBL) modules

- Inclusion of regional bus operators with on-board computers via GPS/GPRS

June 12, 2006 - City of Offenburg orders iqube

 

iqube’s premiere in Southern Germany

 

By ordering iqube, the city of Offenburg in Southern Germany greatly extends the service quality for its citizens. The municipality in the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg is complementing the city’s frequently awarded public transit services with a modern passenger information system. Starting this summer, four new LED full-matrix displays will be showing real-time departure information of local and regional routes, right across from the town hall.

Seiser Alp in the Schlern region of southern Tyrol is a popular destination for both sun and snow hungry guests throughout the year. The attractions of tourism are a substantial economic motor in the region. In 2005, 4.9 million guests came to southern Tyrol to spend their vacations. As in many alpine areas driven by this economic motor, however, the Schlern region is suffering under the burden of increasing car traffic.
